GL announces T1 E1 Analyzer client / server script for
GAITHERSBURG, Md., Aug. 05, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – GL Communications Inc., a global leader in telecommunications test and measurement solutions, spoke to the press about its T1 E1 analyzer that supports Python client / server scripts for Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
GL’s Windows Client / Server (WCS) software enables the user of T1 / E1 analysis / emulation boards (with portable, dual, quadruple and octal interfaces), the capability of remote operation, automation and multi-site connectivity. A server’s T1 / E1 cards are easily controlled through software clients at remote or local sites through TCP / IP sockets. Connectivity can be via Dial-Up, LAN, WAN or more generally the Internet. The server software can perform multiple tasks simultaneously at the request of the client software, ”said Vijay Kulkarni, CEO of GL Communications.
“In the recent enhancement, WCS software is enhanced to support Python scripting on Windows and Linux operating systems. The Windows Client Python Module (WCPM) wcli_t1_e1.pyd provides a client interface to WCS T1 / E1 servers. It allows a python program to connect to one or more GWSs and execute server commands, asynchronous tasks, and receive responses from GWS. WCPM allows connection to multiple GWS allowing the python program to control T1 / E1 equipment on multiple computers and geographic locations via TCP / IP. Supported Python versions are 3.6, 3.7, and 3.8.
He added, “All the complexity of TCP / IP communications is completely hidden from users and boils down to invoking functions with string parameters and functions returning string responses. WCPM conforms to the standards of the python naming convention and development practices. When WCPM functions are invoked incorrectly, an appropriate exception is thrown, making it easier to diagnose and correct the problem.
