Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer 2022 facelift launched in Malaysia, from RM342,000
The new Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer was launched in Malaysia and is available in a single Select 121 Extra Long variant for RM 342,036.40 on the road without insurance.
Essentially a commercial brother of the V-Class, the Vito Tourer is sold by Hap Seng Star (HSS), which acquired the commercial vehicle business of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) in 2018. As such, all sales on and after -sale of the Vito Tourer is handled by dealers and HSS service centers. Prior to that, the Vito Tourer was retailed by Nusa Otomobil with a turbodiesel engine.
The Vito Tourer arrives here in a revamped form, with exterior revisions limited to the grille which now features slots in each of the three slats. Beyond that, the vehicle looks pretty much unchanged from before, still measuring 5,370mm long, 2,244mm wide and 1,958mm high – it’s longer than the V-Class (5,140mm ).
Although it is passenger-focused, the Vito Tourer still has cues that set it apart as a utility vehicle, such as the bumper which has cutouts for the missing fog lights, black mirrors and door handles as well as commercial tires.
In the 3430mm wheelbase you’ll find seats for up to 10 people, arranged in a 2-3-2-3 configuration. With a guide rail system and quick release, owners can remove the fourth-row bench seat for a seven-seat layout or rearrange the seats as they see fit.
As for the interior, the Vito Tourer gets its own dashboard design compared to the V-Class, which has since been discontinued by MBM here. Standard equipment inside the cabin includes black leatherette upholstery, power front seats with memory function, multifunction leather steering wheel, overhead control panel, Thermotronic air conditioning and Tempmatic semi-automatic air conditioning for rear passengers. There’s also a seven-inch Audio 30 touchscreen main unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
As for the rest of the kit list items, the Vito Tourer gets 17-inch five-split-spoke alloy wheels, power sliding doors (left and right), smart LED lighting system with High Beam Assist Plus, automatic windshield wipers, rear view camera and tire pressure monitoring system.
Safety and driving systems are also complete, with features such as Active Brake Assist (AEB), Active Distance Assist Distronic, Attention Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Crosswind Assist, Hill-Start Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Tracking Package and Parktronic all as standard.
Under the hood, the Vito Tourer is powered by a 2.0-liter M274 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 211 hp (208 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm of torque from 1,300 to 4,000 rpm. A nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission transmits the drive to the rear wheels.
Buyers will have a choice of four colors, including Obsidian Black Metallic, Rock Crystal White Metallic, Graphite Gray Metallic and Cavansite Blue Metallic. The price includes a 2 + 2 vehicle warranty – a two-year manufacturer’s international vehicle warranty and two-year Allianz extended warranty insurance. The service interval is 10,000 km / year, unlike 12,000 km / year for conventional Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles.
