Robins Stadium video board to be unveiled on Saturday
RICHMOND, Virginia – The University of Richmond will unveil its new state-of-the-art LED video card at Robins Stadium this Saturday for the Spiders’ home game against Elon. The kick-off is set at 2 p.m.
Construction on the new video card has been underway since the Spiders last played Robins Stadium on September 11. The video card’s LED panels are installed this week and the card is expected to be fully functional by Thursday for testing and calibration.
The new LED video card replaces the original Robins Stadium video card that was installed when it opened in 2010. The new card includes video across the entire card, measuring 60 feet wide and nearly 28 feet wide. feet high and overlapping on the current footprint of the video card. The video card operates at 1800 x 828 pixels and with a pixel pitch of 10 millimeters of spacing on a full LED.
The Daktronics video card is set up for multiple uses throughout a game. Traditional video replays, stats and sponsorships implemented in an engaging way, fans will be treated to a full presentation using the media player Daktronics DMP-8000 digital and Show Control system.
